Happy Family Day everyone! This is truly one of my favourite holidays. No, its not sunny outside and we typically wouldn't go away or really do anything super special....but that's why I like it. We just let ourselves spend time with family keeping cozy while it's cold outside and using the time to talk, snuggle and do things together that don't cost a thing!
As I was thinking about Family Day, I thought I would share some very special photos that Emily Krbec (my amazing, talented, sweet and hard working second photographer) took of us last summer. We've been testing out a new type of session (more to come on that soon) that is fully centered around family and the truest expression of life and love in an everyday way. It's about how we live. As a note, my grandmother stays with us from time to time for extended periods and I am so glad that she was here for these photos! It's these kinds of images that I know I will be extremely grateful for in years to come.
Welcome to my house, my neighborhood and to my family in all our weirdness and the everyday stuff that makes us...us!
This adorable baby girl turned one!
This little guy is 7 months old and the most handsome little smiler!
I adore this family. We have been friends for well over a decade and I can't imagine life without these peeps! They make my heart sing and I am made a stronger and more fulfilled person for having known them. Here they are in all their wonderful cuteness and personality! xo
Our newly updated website is live and we are so excited! We are thrilled to be able to feature sessions from some of the awesome families that we've gotten to know over this past while. With Mother's Day coming up in just a few short weeks, we thought it would be really fun to do something special to acknowledge all you incredible Mothers!
So... we have teamed up with the fabulous Jennifer at Schulz Makeup and Beauty Studio to share a Mother's Day Contest!

I love maternity and expecting women. It's something too magical to explain - especially when you have been there yourself. When my fellow photographer friend Megan asked me to take some photos of her and her hubby and their baby bump - I had to hold in the excitement! Megan and I have shot quite a few weddings together and I adore her!
I love in-home newborn sessions. There is something so beautiful, intimate and glorious about the first few days and weeks at home with a new baby. The love and contentment is outreaching and contagious. One of life's greatest gifts.
I love photographing this family - not just because N is my cousin, but because they are lovely. They are sweet, kind and let's face it - those kids couldn't be cuter!
2015 has brought with it many changes for Blynda DaCosta Photography including a new brand, new website/blog and new packaging! Hooray! We are so excited to show you all the new lovliness taking place here at BDP.
